Europe stocks higher, led by banks, resources

MADRID (MarketWatch) — European stock markets opened higher on Friday, with banks and resource stocks leading gainers. The Stoxx Europe 600 index rose 0.8% to 279.48, with Credit Agricole SA and BNP Paribas SA each up over 3%.
